Properties of Alu-DIBOND®

Alu-DIBOND® is composed of two white aluminium layers with a black polyethylene compound core in-between. At 4 mm, the material is particularly durable and bending-resistant. The image is printed on the Alu-DIBOND® board using UV direct print technology to create a stunning print result. The board has a matt surface with excellent detail reproduction and long-term durability.

The white, unprinted areas of the Alu-DIBOND® board have a smooth feel. The surface areas printed with UV-resistant inks in contrast have a subtle structure. Printed text, for example, will be slightly raised and can be felt when running the palm over the board. The lightweight boards are easy to handle. The edges of the material are cut smooth and clean.

Applications of Alu-DIBOND® indoors and outdoors

Alu-DIBOND® is mainly used for advertising signs, company signs or outdoor advertising campaigns. The combination of aluminium and plastic makes Alu-DIBOND® particularly corrosion- and weather-resistant and the perfect choice of material for signs set up in protected outdoor areas. Alu-DIBOND® retains its shape even at extreme temperatures. The surface can be wiped clean with a moist cloth.

Indoors, the composite aluminium board is used for superior prints and photos. It is also appreciated at exhibitions. Thanks to its classy and luminous appearance, Alu-DIBOND® is ideal for photographers who want to professionally showcase their pictures at exhibitions or in galleries. The light weight of the material makes for easy transporting and effortless hanging on the wall even of larger sizes. The matt surface inhibits extreme reflections, for example from lighting in exhibition rooms.

Tips on choosing Alu-DIBOND®

What is the best way to mount advertising boards made of Alu-DIBOND®?

1. Mounting the Alu-DIBOND® sign with metal hangers

You can also choose metal hangers in the additional options on the product page of the Alu-DIBOND® advertising signs. Two self-adhesive metal hangers will be supplied with your advertising sign. Depending on the board size and weight, the metal hangers are either 10 x 10 cm or 10 x 20 cm.
Glue the self-adhesive metal hangers to the upper edge of the back of your advertising sign. Press the hangers firmly to the back for about ten seconds and wait another 30 minutes before hanging the sign. Mounting the sign on the wall is similar to hanging a picture. You need two nails to hang your sign using the metal hangers.

We also deliver self-adhesive rubber spacers for the hangers. You can glue them on the lower corners on the back of your advertising sign. After mounting the sign, the spacers will assure the optimum distance to the wall.

2. Installing the Alu-DIBOND® sign with four corner holes

Alternatively, you can choose optional corner holes in the additional options on the product page of the Alu-DIBOND® advertising signs. Choose the "drilled holes" option for this purpose. We then fit the corners of your advertising sign with four holes with a diameter of either 4 mm or 6 mm. This allows you to securely fasten your sign to the wall.
