Properties of KAPA® plast
KAPA® plast boards are printed directly. The primer finish – the synthetic coating of the top layers – provides excellent printing characteristics and top ink adhesion. The material takes on inks easily and the boards' high level of whiteness assures a neutral reproduction of the printed colours. Prints on KAPA® plast make colours appear rich and vibrant with excellent sharpness. The slight surface sheen adds contrast and a quality feel to the boards.
The top layers of the lightfoam board are moisture-resistant and the composite material is very heat-resistant. KAPA® plast boards retain their dimensional stability also under varying environmental conditions. Its properties make KAPA® plast the ideal material for indoor advertising signs.
Characteristics of KAPA® plast
The flat surface of KAPA® plast has a subtle structure which is rather coarse to the touch. The trim edges of the boards are smooth and clean, making KAPA® plast ideal for contour cut products. The sides feel rough and coarse due to the foam core. The corners of the boards are pointed and sturdy.
Thanks to the light weight, the boards are easy to handle. This allows even large boards to be mounted to walls or ceilings without difficulty.
"I strongly recommend KAPA plast signs for indoor sign applications. The material is easy to transport but sturdy, so it will still look good after the sign has been put up and taken down several times. The advertising signs are optionally delivered with plastic or metal hangers. Alternatively, you can opt for the corner hole option as a secure way to mount your sign."
Tips on choosing KAPA® plast
What are uses of KAPA® plast?
KAPA® plast is ideal for advertising signs, displays or large-format designs. It is used to implement exhibition and trade show solutions, decorate office rooms or as a presentation wall for photo campaigns.
Lightfoam boards are also used by architects or design agencies, e.g. to build models, create three-dimensional design drafts or as mood boards in the fashion industry.
What is the best way to install advertising signs made of KAPA® plast?
1. Fastening the KAPA® plast sign with plastic hangers
We optionally provide plastic hangers to mount your KAPA® plast advertising sign. This option can be selected on the product pages in our online shop. Simply glue the self-adhesive hangers on the back of the sign. You can now hang the advertising sign on the wall using two nails and the metal hooks of the plastic hangers.
We deliver two plastic hangers with each advertising sign.
2. Fastening the KAPA® plast sign with metal hangers
As an alternative to plastic hangers, you can opt for metal hangers to mount your KAPA® plast advertising sign. This option can be selected on the product pages in our online shop. Two self-adhesive metal hangers will be supplied with your advertising sign. Depending on the board size and weight, the metal hangers are dimensioned either 10 x 10 cm or 10 x 20 cm.
Glue the self-adhesive metal hangers to the upper edge of the back of your advertising sign. Press the hanger tightly to the back for about ten seconds and wait another 30 minutes before hanging the sign. Mounting the sign on the wall is similar to hanging a picture. You need two nails to hang your sign using the two metal hangers.
In addition to the hangers, we supply self-adhesive rubber spacers. You can glue the spacers near the two lower corners on the reverse of your advertising sign, for example. The spacers will assure the perfect distance of the sign to the wall.
3. Fastening the KAPA® plast sign with four corner holes
KAPA® plast advertising signs can optionally be delivered with four corner holes. The "drilled holes" option can be selected on the product pages in our online shop. We then fit the corners of your advertising sign with four holes with a diameter of either 4 mm or 6 mm. This allows you to easily screw your sign to the wall.
How should KAPA® plast be stored?
KAPA® plast lightfoam boards lie flat and are dimensionally stable when stored correctly. The boards should be stored dry, flat and protected against cold.
