Properties of magnetic sheet
Magnetic sheet is a flexible, magnetic material which adheres to ferrous surfaces. The magnetic underside is fitted with a matt UV coating that is gentle on the surface to which it is applied. The printable upper side of the sheet is coated with white polyvinyl chloride (PVC); it is non-magnetic.
Magnetic signs can be applied to all metal surfaces indoors and outdoors, for example as lettering or company logo on cars, as a product label on metal shelves or as a fridge magnet.
Magnetic signs should not be applied on subsequently painted surfaces, non-metallic plaster, wood grain and vinyl cladding. Be careful also when applying magnetic signs to certain paints such as metallic paint or overcoated areas (secondary painting) as this can lead to discolouration of the painted areas.
We offer magnetic sheet for magnetic signs printed with water-proof UV inks. The colours are lightfast for up to two years. The print has vibrant colours, sharp contrast and depth of detail.
Characteristics of magnetic sheet
Both the matt white surface and the black underside of the magnetic sheet are even and smooth.
0.9 mm thick, the magnetic sheet is flexible. This allows it to adjust to curved vehicle surfaces, for example. The material is break-proof and dimensionally stable.
"Our magnetic sheet is perfectly suited for temporary advertising on metallic surfaces. This sheet can be applied, for instance, to fridges or vehicles. The production technology of contour cut makes it possible to create any desired shape and to additionally emphasise your advertising message."
Tips on choosing magnetic sheet
Which preparations are necessary before applying magnetic signs on vehicles?
In case of new or newly painted cars, wait about 90 days before applying the magnetic sign to give the paint time to cure completely. Before applying the magnetic sign, wipe the vehicle surface clean with a dry, soft cloth and make sure to remove all dust, dirt and other particles.
Before applying the magnetic sheet on freshly waxed surfaces, please wait for about 48 hours.
How is magnetic sheet applied?
To apply it, carefully position one corner of the magnetic sign on the vehicle surface. Then allow the rest of the sticker to unfold on the surface. Make sure to avoid air bubbles underneath the sheet. If the sheet fails to adapt to the base perfectly, remove it again and try again. Do not pull or tear at the magnetic sheet to adjust it as this can cause the material to overstretch or take damage.
Can magnetic signs be used at extreme temperatures?
Magnetic signs should not be used at temperatures below - 15 °C or above 70 °C because the material loses its magnetic properties and no longer clings to the surface.
Does magnetic sheet adhere also when it is raining?
Our magnetic signs also adhere when it is raining.
Please note that car magnets are not car wash safe. If you want to take your vehicle to a car wash, remove the magnetic sign first.
What is important when caring for magnetic signs?
The magnetic sign should be regularly removed from the surface to prevent accumulation of moisture and dirt. For magnetic sheets on vehicles, we recommend taking them off daily to make sure that the vehicle and the magnetic sheet stay clean and free from road dirt. Dirt between the magnetic sign and the vehicle surface can cause paint damages.
Clean the magnetic sheet and the surface with a gentle cleaning agent. Use a soft cloth and let the cleaned surface dry afterwards. This helps extend the life of your product and protect the surface of your vehicle.
Please note that magnetic signs are not car wash safe. If you want to take your vehicle to a car wash, remove the magnetic sign first and clean it with a soft cloth and gentle cleaning agent as described above.
What is important when storing magnetic signs?
Make sure to store magnetic signs in a clean and dry environment. Store the material upright to avoid pressure points. When rolling magnetic sheet, make sure that the printed, non-magnetic side faces outward. If you store the sheet horizontally, please do so on a clean, smooth and even surface. If you stack magnetic signs, avoid storing them with the magnetic sides touching as this may cause creasing due to the repelling pole configuration.
