Properties of PVC film
Permanently self-adhesive PVC film adheres to all even and clean surfaces and is easy to remove without residue. The material is tear-proof and heat-resistant. The adhesive film is printed with water-proof UV inks that won't fade for up to two years.
We provide PVC film for outdoor floor decals, offset printed stickers and large-format adhesive films.
80 µm PVC film for outdoor floor stickers
For our outdoor floor decals, we use 80 µm self-adhesive film made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The glossy white adhesive film is fitted with a raised, skid-proof coating which is insurance certified against potential personal injury. The anti-skid structure creates a dull and skid-proof surface which reduces the risk of slipping on the floor decals. The protective coating additionally protects the print against scratches.
PVC film is particularly well suited for application on rough surfaces such as concrete, asphalt or stone. The substrate should be free from most dirt, sand or grit prior to application.
90 µm PVC film for offset printing
Our PVC film for offset stickers comes in 90 µm quality, clear or white.
The adhesive back is protected with backing paper which is non-slit for the clear film and slit for the white version. Taken together, the paper weight of PVC film, adhesive and carrier material is equivalent to 260 gsm.
The water-resistant film is printed with UV cured inks. These are of limited suitability for permanent outdoor use. For example, long-term exposure to sunlight or other strong light sources may impact the colour reproduction.
The high-resolution print image inspires with its sharp details. Please note that it is not possible to print white on clear film. White elements would equally appear transparent or be invisible in the print.
Regardless of the colour, the film surface is glossy or reflective and very smooth. The film provides good grip which can be felt as a little resistance when moving the finger over the material. The film is easy to peel off the backing paper and adheres to all smooth and clean surfaces such as marble, polished stone or tiles.
255 gsm PVC film for large-format adhesive films
PVC film for large-format adhesive films is delivered in 255 gsm quality. It is available clear or white. Thanks to its weight, it is ideal for large formats.
The self-adhesive film is protected by backing paper. It is digitally printed and inspires with its highly vivid and crisp colours. Please note that white colour cannot be printed on clear film. White elements would also appear white in the print result or they would be invisible.
255 gsm PVC film is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is flame-retardant with B1 certification and self-extinguishing.
The material is very smooth and has a glossy surface. Just like the 80 µm and 90 µm quality, 255 gsm PVC film has good tactile properties and is easy to peel off the backing paper.
"I recommend 80 µm PVC film to create outdoor floor decals applied to coarse surfaces such concrete or asphalt. The material is laminated with an anti-skid coating to prevent slipping, making it ideal as floor decals for outdoor events."
Tips on choosing PVC film
Where are floor stickers used?
Indoor floor stickers are used, e.g. for stair advertising, guiding visitors or floor marketing in stores or shopping centres. In doctors' offices or pharmacies, floor decals frequently ask customers to stand away for privacy reasons.
Eye-catching outdoor floor graphics garner attention and market your brand in front of stores, as part of guerrilla marketing campaigns or visitor guide systems in pedestrian areas or on trade show premises.
How long do floor stickers last?
The durability of floor stickers depends on various factors including light, substrate and place of installation as well as wear by constant foot traffic. Outdoor floor decals exposed to direct sunlight and high wear have a reduced durability compared to stickers used in shaded and less frequented areas.
