Recycled paper – ideal for environmentally friendly print projects
Why is recycled paper good for the climate?
Our recycled paper is made of 100 % waste paper. This makes it especially eco-friendly and the carbon footprint is smaller than that of other paper types – the production generates, on average, 15 % fewer carbon emissions as compared to the production of virgin fibre paper made of new wood. Recycled paper also requires much less energy and water: According to the German Environment Agency, the production of recycled paper requires 68 % less energy and 78 % less water less water than the production of virgin fibre paper¹. Moreover, the raw materials already available are re-used and re-processed. Valuable resources such as wood remain in the economic cycle thus reducing the exploitation of raw materials.
What properties does recycled paper have?
Recycled paper falls into the category of uncoated paper. It has a typical appearance of eco-paper and is ideally suited for printing. Designs stand out bright and clear in vivid colours with a matt appearance. The high opacity (impermeability to light) of the paper prevents show-through of images – this allows both the front and back of your products to be printed.
Recycled paper has a superior sturdy feel. It is also convincing due to its paper volume, meaning the ratio of paper thickness and weight. For the selection of paper, this means that: If you normally take the 150 gsm art paper for the inside of your brochure, you will only need 110 gsm recycled paper to achieve the same page thickness. You save on weight – which is a great advantage, especially if you have many pages.
Print products made of recycled paper are suitable for long storage. Recycled paper made of waste paper is as good for archiving as virgin fibre paper and is therefore a reliable and environmentally compatible option also for authorities, archives and other organisation.

Sustainability meets perfect appearance
When we produce our recycled paper, we make it as white as necessary and as eco-friendly as possible. Because the higher the degree of whiteness of recycled paper is, the more complex the process of its bleaching becomes and the more fibres are lost. This is why we use recycled paper with a natural white colour for our print products; it is somewhat less brilliant than that of offset/copy paper, nonetheless, it has professional, high-quality appearance. Whether for your business correspondence, image brochures or other projects: Recycled paper is just as good as any other paper type – and at the same time it is good for the environment.
